What is PathwayConnect?
PathwayConnect is the recommended start to every degree. Offered at a significantly reduced cost, it lasts less than a year and includes foundational academic and religion courses — completely online — that help students see increased success. No ACT/SAT required for admission!
In addition to taking academic and religion courses, students gather once a week with one another. These gatherings occur virtually through online groups or at local church facilities where you participate in educational and leadership activities related to your courses, build lifelong friendships, and deepen testimonies of Jesus Christ.
The Heber J. Grant Scholarship is available for students who start their degree program via the preferred path, which begins with PathwayConnect. Students will be awarded a tuition discount of 10, 25, or 50 percent off of their tuition balance.
To receive this scholarship:
STEP 1: Apply to BYU-Pathway Worldwide.
STEP 2: Complete an online informational module in order to receive the scholarship. (A link to the module is provided to students after they apply and are admitted.)
The tuition discount applies to all courses taken as part of BYU-Pathway Worldwide's foundational PathwayConnect courses. (The tuition discount does not apply to courses taken after PathwayConnect.)

At the end of PathwayConnect, students may move directly into online academic courses in a partnership with BYU-Idaho and Ensign College. For those who completed PathwayConnect, they are guaranteed the same tuition for their whole program.

- Be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or have a close tie to the Church
- Be at least 17 years old (with a high school/secondary school diploma or equivalent) or age 18 and older (with or without a secondary school diploma or equivalent)
- Attend weekly gatherings (either online or in person) during the first three semesters of your degree program
- Strive to live by the CES Honor Code*
- Be capable of university-level academic work
- Complete an English proficiency assessment (for non-native English speakers). Applicants who do not pass can consider enrolling in EnglishConnect.
- Have daily access to a computer with high-speed internet and webcam/video chat capabilities
- Earn a cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA ("B") in your first three academic courses
- Meet with your local Church leaders for a worthiness interview to get an ecclesiastical endorsement
- Submit transcripts for transfer credit evaluation
- Be in good standing (academic and financial) at any institution of higher learning previously attended
- Be clear of any unresolved legal action (probation, fines, listed on a registry, etc.)
